Reserve room

Some of the atmosphere from 1930 when the house was built has been preserved in the rooms. Many rooms have a fantastic view over the Cathedral and the historical surroundings in central Uppsala. Near the hotel are also many parks and the city centre is only five minutes walk away.

The rooms have been continuosly renovated and are now very comfortable hotel rooms. All rooms have rustic furnishing with comfortable 90 cm beds and oak or beech furniture. Floors have parquet or linoleum flooring in traditional style. Most rooms have high windows and ceilings except on the fourth floor.

Breakfast buffé is of course included and we are proud to say that our guests enjoy our new baked bread, eggs, cereals, sausages etc.

The surroundings...

The hotel is situated on the ridge between the Castle and the Cathedral and the view towards the churchtowers from some rooms is astonishing. The Cathedral with its´ kings tombs and relics is well worth a visit.

Next to the Cathedral is Gustavianum, the original university. Today, this is the University Museum with - among many other interesting items - "Det Augsburgska Skåpet" from the swedish warfare in the 17th century.

Just around 200m from the hotel is the University Building where you find the amazing Assembly Hall. See also the sculptures in the stairwell. On your way from the University Building to the Castle on the hill, you will pass Åsgränd, the little alley were Pelle No Tail and the other cats in the books by Gösta Knutsson lived their lives.

South of the Castle you find the Botanical Garden, one of the Linnean gardens in the Uppsala area. Heading back to the hotel you will also pass the University library Carolina Rediviva where a large collection of scientific litterature is kept. Most well known item is of course the Silver Bible.
